Pavan Srinath is the head of policy research at the Takshashila Institution, an independent, networked think tank and school of public policy based in Bangalore. He is also Fellow at the Centre for Smart City Governance within Takshashila. Pavan has an academic background in the biosciences and has been working in urban governance and public policy over the past 6 years. He led the creation of a first-of-its-kind civic leadership incubation programme for residents of Bangalore, and teaches public policy for Takshashila’s flagship Graduate Certificate in Public Policy course, which is a semester-long, largely online course designed for working professionals to get a foundation in public policy.
He has published two books, including ‘The State of Our Cities: Evidence from Karnataka’ (Oxford University Press, 2012) and has an upcoming edited volume that examines how state governments have incorporated a role for markets while designing policy.
